Bamboo

Bamboo is one of the biggest resource of India which is readily available & sustainable. However, only craft artisans in different states have been developing products and very few designers have ventured into this area.

The Beehive would like to change its perception from a rural material to a contemporary material. We are already doing research on the types of Bamboo available in different areas, and their properties & applications, to be able to use the right type of Bamboo for a certain application or products.

We have experimented with Bamboo by making Trays, Furniture, LampsĀ  in burnt finishes or painted finishes, and have received a good response.

However, we are still very experimentative in our approach, and would like to present a sophisticated experience of Bamboo & its products. We are also researching on seasoning of Bamboo.
